Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of Boardly (the “Service”), a boarding house management application. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

Boardly is software that helps boarding house owners manage rooms, boarders, bills, payments, and receipts. Throughout these Terms, “we”, “us”, and “Boardly” refer to the operator of the Service.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect any unauthorized use.

3. Your role and your boarders

If you use Boardly as a landlord, you are responsible for the boarder, tenancy, billing, and payment information you enter, and for ensuring you have the right to record and process that information. You are solely responsible for your relationships and agreements with your boarders. Boarders who join through an invite may view and interact only with the records their landlord shares with them.

4. Billing records, not payment processing

Boardly is a record-keeping and reminder tool. It helps you track what is owed, record payments, and issue receipts. Boardly does not collect, hold, or transfer rent on your behalf and is not a payment processor, bank, or escrow service. Actual collection of rent and the resolution of any billing disputes are between you and your boarders.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
  • upload content you do not have the right to share, or that is harmful or malicious;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
  • interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service; or
  • misrepresent your identity or your authority to act for a property or person.

6. Your content and data

You retain ownership of the information you put into Boardly. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that information solely to provide and improve the Service. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Service availability and changes

We work to keep Boardly available and reliable, but the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend or discontinue parts of the Service, at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to give notice of significant changes.

8. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Boardly disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any calculation, reminder, or record is complete or accurate for your specific situation. You are responsible for reviewing your own financial and legal records.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Boardly will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that could cause harm to us or others. On termination, the rights granted to you under these Terms will end.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If the changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the Philippines.
