Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Boardly (the “Service”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use it to manage your boarding house. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and the password or Google sign-in you use to authenticate.
- Information you enter. As a landlord, the property, room, boarder, tenancy, bill, payment, and receipt records you create. Some of this may include personal information about your boarders, which you are responsible for being entitled to provide.
- Payment proofs. Files you or your boarders upload as proof of payment.
- Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as log data and general usage needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
2. How we use information
- to provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- to authenticate you and keep your account secure;
- to generate bills, reminders, receipts, and notifications you ask the Service to produce;
- to respond to your requests and provide support; and
- to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Sign in with Google
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information (such as your name and email address) from Google to create or access your account. We use it only for authentication and account management. Your use of Google sign-in is also subject to Google’s own privacy policy.
4. Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the Service, and they process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
- Our email provider — to send confirmations, reminders, and receipts.
5. Data location
The Service and its data are hosted in the Asia–Pacific region. Depending on the provider, information may be processed in other locations; where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Records such as receipts are kept as append-only history so your financial trail stays intact. We may retain certain information where required to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations.
7. Security
We protect data with row-level security so that each account can only access the records it is authorized to see, along with encryption in transit and other safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any issues.
8. Your choices and rights
You can review and update much of your information directly in the app. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for adults managing or living in boarding houses and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
